Profile of Maria Psillaki

Maria Psillaki is Assistant Professor of Financial Economics. Prior to her appointment at the University of Pireaus, Economics Department in 2009, she was Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, in France. She has in the past held academic appointments at Rutgers University (New Jersey), in the Faculty of Business and at the University of Cyprus, Business School. She has been Visitor Researcher at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago and Research Fellow at Birkbeck College (University of London). Her areas of expertise are in banking, and financial economics. She has taught many finance and economic courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has published extensively in the international refereed literature in banking and corporate finance. Finally, she has participated in several European projects. She is also Vice-President of the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association (HFAA).
